Hudy!

After wanting a Hudy tool set for the last say 7 or 8 years from the first time I saw one. I knew I had to have one, one day. Finally that day has come.
Everything is utterly perfect and you really get what you pay for.

Also the cherry on top, a set up station for the KF. Also wanted one of these for a while now and figured if I'm going to get the Hudy tools, I might as well.
It also comes with a really good off road set up guide. Still need to read it but I'm fairly sure it's very good.

Also uber quality and it pleases my OCDness with set up and getting things right. No need to eye ball camber, caster etc anymore now.

Bring on race day tomorrow!

It runs!

Picked up two Gens Ace 4200mah 60c shorty packs. They fit near perfectly in the KF, only some minor foam shimming to get a snug fit.
All the wiring is finished now and I'm quite proud to say it's one of the best jobs and is good enough to my OCD standards.

Just need to pick up some Hudy gear now and maybe a wheel balancer before I head off for my first race meeting with it next week.

The last few bits

Orion OSB R+ program box/battery checker. One very cool bit of kit, Very easy to use and set everything up plus it also checks batteries.
Now a transponder at last. I've wanted one of these for years and finally have one now!
Not super neat but it will do. I'd rather it be more forward, I was thinking under the shock tower/above the steering rack but wiring would be a pain so beside the servo Tom Cockerill style.

Now all that's left to do is get a couple shorty packs, Hudy Set up station/tools, MuchMore charger and go out to race.

At last the Sanwa M12

After a few months of needing a new radio my order for an M12 came in.
I'll take some proper photos when I get my lighting and table set up but for now these should do.

So far I'm very happy with how the radio is. Very high end and by far the best I've owned so far. A huge step up over the DX3R Pro that I had.
The only things I don't like is that the battery holder rattles a bit but that's because it's meant to have a lipo or life pack in it and that the antenna wire is a bit long but I can live with those things.

Now I just need to wait for my Muchmore charger to come in and also get some shorty packs.

It's getting close now

Super tight wiring, even less room than a VDF somehow. It looked nice and roomy but it gets really tight where you need room.
 There's a servo in there somewhere. ( A Savox 1258tg )
Thunder Power 17.5 is a lovely red. Sad it doesn't match the rest of the car but it's fast and that's what matters.
Also I got a shorty conversion set.

It lifts the belt up enough. It gets rid of the need for saddle packs. You save around 70 grams so it's good. Plus it cleans up the wiring.
And you get these holders that hold the shorty packs. There are 3 slots so you can move the battery forward or back around 15mm.

Anyway, more to come. Sanwa M12 next hopefully.

She'll be missed.

While rebuilding the VDF it hit me that I'll never rebuild it again or be able to take a photo shoot of it again etc. I've worked on this car for nearly 4 years. I started working on this thing when I was 12 and I'm 16 now. It was the base for me learning to build cleanly, understanding car basics etc. I'm really going to miss this car if it sells.

Thanks for the memories, VDF.

More KF buggy stuff

New Orion 160amp R10 pro and a Thunder Power 17.5.
Also picked up a Schumacher glass set up board and a case for it.

Next on the list is a Sanwa M12 and a Much More charger. Now just need to solder the motor and speedie in.
