The first race meet.

My first race in around 5 years. I went to Adrenalin Arena last Wednesday night ( I've had computer issues thus the late post.) to run the KF for the first time. After getting use to the carpet, it's like nothing I've ever driven on before. Tons of grip so an all new driving style. And couple huge crashes... I was able to get a few nice runs in before my first heat race.
Car ran great, a touch too hot so I dialed 5 degrees less timing in for the next run but besides that it was all up to the driver. I came 3rd in the two heats I had, then came the mains. Pushing my two shorty packs to the limit of run time between charges. 5 minutes takes a pack from 100% to 23% - 27% so I really need 3 packs. Anyway back to the finals. There was two groups of stock so both were bunched into the mains. I think there was 10 or 12 cars. I came 7th the C and B before hitting the face of a double and cracking my front bulkhead in the last corner of the last lap. That put me out of the A main.
Very tough for what I did too it and surprised this was the only thing I broke. Cartwheels, hard landings, rolls, full on full speed hitting the face of a gap jump twice.. understandable to happen though but this takes a real beating for a race buggy.
Also this was here. Pretty cool rig.

Hudy!

After wanting a Hudy tool set for the last say 7 or 8 years from the first time I saw one. I knew I had to have one, one day. Finally that day has come.
Everything is utterly perfect and you really get what you pay for.

Also the cherry on top, a set up station for the KF. Also wanted one of these for a while now and figured if I'm going to get the Hudy tools, I might as well.
It also comes with a really good off road set up guide. Still need to read it but I'm fairly sure it's very good.

Also uber quality and it pleases my OCDness with set up and getting things right. No need to eye ball camber, caster etc anymore now.

Bring on race day tomorrow!

It runs!

Picked up two Gens Ace 4200mah 60c shorty packs. They fit near perfectly in the KF, only some minor foam shimming to get a snug fit.
All the wiring is finished now and I'm quite proud to say it's one of the best jobs and is good enough to my OCD standards.

Just need to pick up some Hudy gear now and maybe a wheel balancer before I head off for my first race meeting with it next week.

The last few bits

Orion OSB R+ program box/battery checker. One very cool bit of kit, Very easy to use and set everything up plus it also checks batteries.
Now a transponder at last. I've wanted one of these for years and finally have one now!
Not super neat but it will do. I'd rather it be more forward, I was thinking under the shock tower/above the steering rack but wiring would be a pain so beside the servo Tom Cockerill style.

Now all that's left to do is get a couple shorty packs, Hudy Set up station/tools, MuchMore charger and go out to race.
